La Turballe

La Turballe is a delightful seaside resort on the superb coast of the Loire Atlantique, otherwise known as the “ Côte d’Amour”, situated on the Guérande peninsula, 8km from Guérande and approximately 15km from La Baule.

Originally, La Turballe was a fishing port which developped when the sardine canneries multiplied in the 19th century.  Today, La Turballe’s harbour is the largest fishing port in the Loire-Atlantique and specialises in species such as sardines, mackerel and cuttlefish.
